Candidates will ideally come from a similar environment or have processed schools payroll within a local authority.

Candidates from client payroll / bureau or high volume - multi payrolls will also be considered

Salary: to £35.000 DOE

Brief

My client is an established service provider based in Brentwood in Essex. Due to a retirement they are now looking to recruit a Payroll Officer to become a permanent member of their team. Please note you have relevant start to finish payroll experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

Working in a team of 3:
Managing payrolls from start to finish and working to tight deadlines
Checking the right to work for employees
Dealing with SSP, SMP, court orders and queries
Point of contract for any payroll queries
Work to strict deadlines according to Payroll Processing Calendars
Preparation and timely payment of BACS files.
Manual payroll calculations where required.
Compliance with company procedures.
Accurate time recording and payslip head count for billing purposes.
Ensure compliance with Data Protection regulations.
P11D processing
Seek to improve processes within the team to improve efficiency
Assistance with production of Payroll Procedures Manual
