Candidates will have demonstrable experience of working in a high volume payroll environment, with hands-on experience of day to day operation and the ability to manage and motivate a large team, providing strategic direction and taking ownership of the service provision including Service Level Agreements etc

The ideal candidate will have a client payroll or managed service background, although all candidates will be considered.

Applicants will be knowledgeable payroll professionals with experience of processing client payroll within an accountancy practice or Bureau.

Payroll experience within a Practice or Bureau and excellent customer service skills is a must!

Our client is a well-established business based in Carlisle –Cumbria. Due to an increase in business they are now recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to join their team.

The Role

This role supports a team with the production of payroll on a weekly, monthly, fortnightly and a basis.


Processing Payroll from client information
Building and maintaining good relationships with clients, liaising on payroll and associated queries
Providing a support service to other departments on client payroll and PAYE matters
Data handling for clients and preparing reports and documentation
Maintaining accurate and concise record systems
Providing administrative support to the payroll team
Dealing with ad hoc queries
Managing internal relationships and dealing with 3rd party queries (HMRC etc.)
